The Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord (Ladyday), traditionally held on March 25th, is transferred to the first Monday after the Octave of Easter whenever that date falls in Holy Week. As the 25th of March is Palm Sunday, this year Ladyday is Monday April 9th.

Such an important feast, which marks the beginning of Our Lord’s Incarnation as His Blessed Mother welcomed Him into her womb, deserves all the glory which we can give it. St. Luke’s therefore is celebrating with Evensong and Benediction on the vigil of this great feast. The choir will be offering settings by Thomas Tallis and Charles Wood, as well as works by Hassler, Aichinger, and Allegri.
